Your text is never stored.
Edyt sends only the text you act on, over an encrypted connection, and discards it after the reply.
01
Read on your device
Edyt reads the text you select, or drag over, on your computer. Nothing else on your screen is read.
02
Sent encrypted
Only the text you act on goes to Edyt and our AI provider, over TLS 1.2 or higher.
03
Then discarded
Once the reply comes back, we keep none of your text. Only your saved prompts and usage counts stay.
Your data is never sold or shared
No ads, no data brokers.
Your words never train AI
Not by us, and not by our AI provider.
Edyt never records your screen
Screen reading takes one picture of the area you drag, only when you drag.
Under the hood.
Questions
No. We don't sell, share, or monetize your data.
On Mac, macOS requires it for screen reading: taking the single picture of the area you drag so Edyt can read text from PDFs and images. Edyt never records the screen and captures nothing unless you drag. If you skip this permission, everything else keeps working. Windows needs no such permission.
Your text is never stored, so it would not be part of one. What we hold is your account, your saved prompts, and usage counts. If something went wrong, we would work to contain it and keep affected users informed.
