Your data, safe.
Everything you need to know about security at Edyt.
Privacy
What we do and do not do with what you write.
We never store your text
We process it the moment you act, then discard it. It is never written to a database or a log on our side. The only content we hold is what you save yourself, like your prompts.
Detection stays on your Mac
Edyt reads your selection, and any screen reading capture, on your device. No keystrokes, images, or screen recordings ever leave it.
Always encrypted
Everything you send travels over a secure, encrypted connection.
We never sell your data
No selling, no sharing, no ads. Your words are your business, not our product.
Your words stay yours
Your content is never used to train AI models.
We never see your card
Payments go through a certified processor. Your card details never touch our servers.
Under the hood
The technical specifics, for anyone who wants them.
Code signing
Every release is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, with the hardened runtime enabled. macOS checks this before it will run the app.
Encryption
All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2 or higher.
Authentication
Handled by Supabase, which is SOC 2 compliant.
Payments
Processed by Stripe, PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Card details never reach our servers.
AI processing
Runs through the OpenAI API, which does not train on API data. OpenAI may hold API requests briefly for abuse monitoring under its own policy. We keep nothing.
Product analytics
Anonymous feature-usage events go to PostHog, identified by a random ID generated on your device. Your text is never included.
Crash reporting
Errors go to Sentry tagged with your account ID and nothing else that identifies you. No name, no email, and never your text.
On-device detection
Text detection runs locally on your Mac. Only the text you act on is sent for processing, then discarded.
On-device screen reading
Captures are read with Apple's Vision framework on your Mac. The image stays in memory on your device. Only the recognized text you act on is sent, then discarded.
